Free and Open to the Public; Presented in Association with Madeline Island Wilderness Preserve
Speaker: Larry Weber, Teacher of 40 years, author of several books on nature of the North Woods.
Even though spiders are very common and live near us, most of us don’t know much about the local species. We hear a lot about ‘dangerous ones’ and very large ones from other parts of the world but don’t hear much about those nearby.
In this program, we will look at the spiders we might see in the region. We will note their hunting habits: with or without webs and examine their anatomy, life cycle and more.
Since this talk is about appreciating spiders, speaker Weber will welcome questions and identify live spiders brought to the presentation.
