  • About

Woods Hall Gallery and Studios is a complex of creative spaces. Our newly renovated gallery exhibits the artwork and fine craft of over 75 island artists- you'll find jewelry, handwoven rugs, shawls and scarves, pottery and sculpture, paintings and prints, felted scarves and wall hangings, and books and music by local talent..We offer working studios in weaving, fiber arts, pottery and jewelry, and anyone can become a member to participate.. Woods Hall is a place of teaching, sharing and learning, .About one third of the participants are year-round island residents; others reside here in the summer or have another connection to Island living.

We feature artist demonstrations and special exhibitions on a regular basis, and a variety of workshops with local and guest instructors are scheduled as well. The gallery is open daily from June through early October, and is open weekend most weekends through Christmas. It is open on occasion during the off-season when there are special holidays, island events, or sometimes if there is an ice road! Please check our website for updates and news at www.woodshallcraftshop.com

The gallery and studios operate as a cooperative, with artists volunteering for many of the responsibilities involved. Over 60 years ago ,the facility was created by island people to encourage creative learning and skills, and the opportunities continue to grow. Woods Hall has a very active Friends group which supports the studios, gallery and artists in numerous ways, such as scholarships and funding for equipment.
